Composite Build Ups

The easy way to mask gaps and restore teeth.

Through mentorship by one of the leading specialists in the field, Dr Monik Vasant and his Totally Composite courses, Dr Chantal has honed her skills to seamlessly use Composite (a white filling material, custom-matched to your tooth shade) to mask gaps between teeth, adjust the shape of teeth and restore teeth in the most minimally invasive way.

This patient wanted to make the edges of her teeth more even as they had chipped over time and was looking for a 'squarer' shaped tooth. We achieved this with 6 freehand composite veneers using Venus Pearl.

This patient was particularly concerned about the black triangles that were visible at the necks of the teeth. She had some recession due to historic periodontal problems (gums). She also had evidence of acid erosion on the edges of her teeth.

The simple addition of Composite (white filling material) with no drilling of her natural tooth changed her smile in just 1 visit.

This patient found the gaps between her teeth irritating as it acted as a food trap when eating. She was constantly having to floss after meals. The gaps had only appeared in recent years, which is common to experience over time - teeth will naturally drift.

By adding Composite to the sides of her lower central incisors, the gaps were masked, however small triangles were left to ensure healthy gums and continued good interdental cleaning.

This young teenager had a congenitally missing (born without) her upper left lateral incisor and a diminutive (smaller than normal) upper right lateral incisor.

Normally braces would be advised, however she was adamant she did not want them. Therefore due to her age, it was imperative we used minimally invasive techniques to mask the gaps. No drilling was carried out, and she was aware some of her teeth would look wider.

This young man was troubled by his congenitally missing pre-molar (missing from birth) in the top right area of his mouth which caused his canine to drift backwards over the years. This exposed gaps on the right side of his mouth which meant he did not feel confident to smile.

With some whitening, composite bonding to mask the gap between his pre-molar and lateral incisor, and a bonded bridge to replace the pre-molar, we are pleased to have given him the confidence to smile.
